Paralegal Duties: Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files, maintaining calendars and meeting deadlines; Assists in developing cases by maintaining contact with courts, opposing counsel, and experts; schedules depositions; prepares and forwards summonses and subpoenas; prepares and files discovery requests; prepares written discovery responses; Tracks and maintains medical, billing, and other records; Organizes materials for team case review; Prepares for trial by organizing evidence and preparing pretrial filings; prepares trial exhibits; schedules witnesses; ensures witnesses are ready when needed; attends trials and takes courtroom notes. Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress; and Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and to expand role.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Certified paralegal with 3-5 years' experience to work in a fast-paced team environment. Will work on a team with one supervising attorney on a docket of 35-40 complex cases. Spanish fluency preferred.
