Duties:

  • Provide legal representation and guidance in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support, property division, and domestic violence
  • Conduct client consultations, assess case merits, and develop effective strategies
  • Prepare and file legal documents, such as complaints, motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis of statutes, case law, and regulations
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Advocate for clients in court through persuasive arguments, witness examination, and evidence presentation
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed on case progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues on trial preparation and case management
  • Conduct depositions and gather evidence as necessary
  • Stay updated on developments in family law to provide accurate and informed legal advice
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and client trust
  • Manage caseload and meet deadlines with a focus on attention to detail
  • Develop professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Participate in professional development to enhance legal skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to firm marketing efforts through networking, articles, and presentations
  • Assist in maintaining or executing payment plans for achieving billable hours targets

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in family law
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (required)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service and litigate effectively
  • Commitment to achieving 1,200 billable hours per year (with increased compensation for additional hours)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (required)
