Intellectual Property Paralegal The candidate will managing company’s domestic and international IP portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, domains, and customs recordations. Building and maintaining internal IP management systems, guidelines, charts, and internal resources associated with company’s IP assets. Performing and analyzing trademark clearance search requests and watch notices. Assisting in IP enforcement activities, including trademark, copyright, and domain disputes in the US and worldwide, as well as online enforcement based on design and utility patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Customs and anti-counterfeiting enforcement, including recordation and management of IP rights with customs authorities internationally, assessing customs notices, and preparing customs training materials. Assisting with IP litigation and IP due diligence requests.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and Paralegal certification. Should have 3-5+ years related IP experience (deep familiarity with trademarks, copyrights, and domains a must). In-house experience preferred. Consumer electronics experience a plus. Familiarity with IP specific systems re portfolio management (e.g., IPfolio), brand protection and domain management (NetNames/CSC), trademark searching (SERION, SAEGIS, ordering searches), and USPTO (e.g., TSDR, TESS, TTABVUE). Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Dropbox, etc. Solid ability to understand general business operations, issues, and dynamics beyond the scope of basic legal issues. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills and multitasking abilities. Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency, and commitment to deadlines across multiple projects. Solid ability to handle confidential information with the highest degree of professional responsibility. Notary Public, a plus.
