Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate with 4-6 years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation practice in Chicago, IL. This role involves drafting briefs and motions, conducting discovery, and engaging in deposition and trial preparation. The position requires strong legal skills, client interaction, and active participation in case management.

Location:

Duties:

• Draft and review briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
• Manage fact and expert discovery, including document review and analysis.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions.
• Engage in trial preparation and attend court proceedings as needed.
• Take on a client-facing role, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Assume responsibility for the management and progression of assigned cases.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of litigation experience, particularly in commercial litigation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Proven record of academic and professional excellence.
• Ability to manage case responsibilities independently and work effectively within a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing in the practicing jurisdiction.

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
• Experience with deposition and trial preparation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
