Labor and Employment Associate
The candidate will have an important role in HR advice and employment litigation, including direct contact with client representatives and opposing counsel. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions and pleadings, attending court conferences, handling discovery-related activities and investigations, and drafting of position statements and dispositive motions. Primary job duties includes: defense of employment litigation claims; responding to agency investigations (e.g., EEOC, DOL, etc.); HR advice and risk management planning; and unfair business competition/restrictive covenant matters.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 6 years of employment litigation experience. Should have Juris Doctor degree. Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in Tennessee. Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice throughout employment. Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Mississippi or be eligible to waive into the Mississippi Bar. Must have 6 years of labor and employment litigation experience. Ability to handle traditional labor work including union avoidance, labor litigation and arbitrations is a plus. Must have excellent analytical and writing skills; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; passion for client service and practice development. Excellent academics (e.g., top 25% of law school class) are expected. Experience in Human Resources/Management is a plus.

"Excellent Pay"

I would like to see better management put into place so that the work load is better balanced throughout the weeks and the months. This way there is always work to be done without being overwhelmed.

Pros : The starting pay is excellent and the benefits (such as 401K) are top notch. I also found everyone to be very helpful and the work environment was very laid back.
Cons : The overall work load on a day to day basis had too much variance. On some days I would have to work well past my normal hours into the night. During other day's I was left with nothing to do.
