Immigration / Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for working closely with our Legal Affairs and Business teams to investigate claims, assist with litigation and HR investigations research facts, and prepare and organize litigation documents. Preparation and management of international travel letters, work permits and visas (e.g., H-1Bs, L-1s, etc.). Drafting petitions, applications and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits. Communicating regularly with employees regarding information needed for work permit and immigration documentation. Assisting attorneys with discovery, responding to subpoenas and other areas of litigation. Participating in document reviews, witness interviews and other discovery endeavors. Reviewing and processing other claims-related matters including bankruptcy, collections, employee equipment returns, as well as cease and desist letters. Processing applications, certificate of insurance requests and other documentation related to insurance coverage and carriers. Working with outside counsel. Preparing reports of the above for counsel. Filing and organizing the information above. Other responsibilities assigned by counsel. Must have 5+ years of experience in litigation and claims, preferably in both private practice and corporate settings, including working with the EEOC. BS/BA degree is essential. Should have excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, including the ability to weigh and articulate the risk and benefit of various scenarios and propose effective resolutions. Experience with federal contracting would be a plus.
