Litigation Legal Assistant Duties: Type and transcribe litigation documents and correspondence from draft or dictated text; Answer calls from the receptionist or other legal staff to the attorney; Assist clients in person and by telephone; Assist in research and physical location of legal materials; Manage calendar and assist in meeting deadlines; Coordinate and attend meetings as needed; Perform other duties, such as schedule appointments, provide information to callers, compose and type correspondence, and read and route mailâ€”both paper and email; File correspondence and legal documents in office filing system; Ensure proper indexing of original legal documents with Court Clerk and County Clerkâ€™s office; and. Work with support staff to meet attorney deadlines.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 4+ years' experience working in a law firm handling litigation files. Must have e-filing experience and be familiar with motions, pleadings, etc. Experience with NLRB filing a plus. High emphasis on quality clerical work, client communication and file maintenance and management. Excellent skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobatand Email.
