Personal Injury Attorney Duties: Obtains and retains clients by following-up on referrals; understanding case information and personal injury allegations; determining whether the actions of defendants or the failure of defendants to act rise to a level that entitle the plaintiff to recovery; presenting legal options; explaining risks of trial and ramifications of outcomes; maintaining rapport. Provides legal advice on personal injury issues by conducting legal research; keeping clients abreast of case developments; analyzing plaintiff’s and defendant’s positions; providing explanations of personal injury law concepts and actions. Develops personal injury case defense by supervising paralegals; reviewing investigative findings, police reports, medical reports, medical examiner’s reports; reports of various state and federal agencies; consulting with experts; completing discovery process. Completes personal injury case preparation by preparing legal briefs; developing strategies, arguments, and testimony. Maintains personal injury case progress by following and enforcing productivity and quality standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements. Resolves personal injury cases by settling, mediating, arbitrating, and prosecuting at trial; planning, organizing, and presenting arguments and counter-arguments; engaging expert witnesses; preparing and presenting evidence; preparing and interrogating witnesses; presenting closing arguments to jury. Maintains cost standards by monitoring expenses; recommending cost-saving opportunities. Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes. Updates personal injury job knowledge by tracking case law and the development of legal theories; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes law firm goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must be totally familiar with all aspects of PI, including Pre-Litigation, Litigation and Trial. Must be loyal, dedicated, hard-working and ambitious. Unique opportunity to inherit a successful established PI practice. Skills in: Litigation, Client Confidentiality, Informing, Negotiating, Verbal Communication, Presentation Skills, Resolving Conflict, Proactive, Results Driven, Adjudication, Administrative Writing Skills. Spanish speaking would be a big plus.
