The candidate will be assisting in agent contract and licensing matters. Providing legal advice and counsel for policyholder services and claims. Conducting legal research and drafting memos. Reviewing and advising on vendor contracts. Providing legal support concerning the company’s relationship with its distribution partners. Consulting with Assistant General Counsel and General Counsel on matters of broad impact, corporate wide issues or significant departures from established company policies and procedures. A Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school. Excellent academic credentials. Be licensed to practice law in Ohio or have the ability to obtain an Ohio law license after hire. At least three years of experience practicing law. Experience with corporate, regulatory and insurance law in a legal department or law firm strongly preferred. Experience drafting agreements is preferred. Excellent writing, legal research and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external constituents, including company regulators. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively and in a timely manner.
