Manager, Contracts The candidate's duties include: Management and leadership of a team of up to six direct reports responsible for facilitating the licensing contract process. Involves the review of contract related documents, oversite of the licensing process, drafting of legal language for negotiated terms and management of the contract data entry process in multiple systems and tools, including system oversite to ensure data integrity (Microsoft Office, Oracle and Salesforce). Facilitation of the licensing contract approval process via various methods of communication and systems/tools to provide transparency throughout the contracting process and guaranty all internal audit and compliance requirements are met for each contract related item. Communication with internal and external customers to provide (i) contract specific terms and definitions, (ii) feedback and direction of the licensing contract process requirements (iii) insight into the contract related data maintained in various internal systems and repositories. May involve working with internal and external attorneys and highest levels of senior leadership. Collaboration with the Sales Development, Retention, Finance, Legal and Openings team to timely complete the licensing contract process to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual net room growth and revenue goals. Facilitation of projects involving contracts and their related terms to assist in company initiatives and strategic goal alignment. Management of reports to ensure data accuracy, workload optimization and insight into contractual data to management and other departments. Should have the ability to make independent decisions and judgement calls to effectively communicate, review, and approve the specific documents required to complete the contracting and approval process, while certifying the approved items will pass all compliance and audit reviews. Requires the ability to offer solutions quickly and creatively for problems or issues that may arise in the licensing contract process during high pressure situations. Must have ability to lead and direct in a manner that establishes trust, open communication, and collaboration with direct reports. Must strive to build a team focused on efficiency, accuracy and honestly while effectively communicate management and organization expectations. Must be a reliable and dependable resource to increase team loyalty and retention while encouraging training, compliance, and development opportunities. Financial Responsibility: Responsible for the data integrity of all contractual terms utilized for billing and financial reporting metrics for WHR. Facilitation of the contract amendment process which often drives key strategic initiatives designed to increase customer engagement and profitability for WHR and franchisees during the contract lifecycle.Expediting and streamlining the contract process through various internal approvals and requirements to drive execution and openings allowing for the accomplishment of net room growth goals. Efficiently facilitating the contract process and delivering franchisee data accurately, further enables the WHR organization to quickly establish relationships with franchisees and provides a more robust understanding of the individual franchisees business needs, contributing to faster onboarding and profitability for WHR and franchisees alike. Accountability: The ability to effectively communicate while multitasking time sensitive contract process deliverables directly impacts firm’s achievement of net room growth on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Accountability, accuracy, efficient time management and collaborative mentality are key drivers of success within this role. Must expeditiously manage the licensing lifecycle during high volume times while ensuring precise communication on the status of all contracts to management. Ability to support direct reports in all aspects of the licensing contracts process to ensure proficiency and display a team-focused mentality to achieve all organizational goals and initiatives. Should be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must have working knowledge or experience with Salesforce and Oracle platforms. Preferred 4-year degree and at least 4 years contract experience and/or paralegal certification.
