Social Security Disability Legal Assistant The candidate will be requesting, reviewing and summarizing medical records, scheduling and preparing cases for hearing and per-hearing, drafting correspondence and motions, filing, scanning, e-mailing, sorting mail, communicating with clients, researching medical history, ensuring all necessary and applicable documentation is complete to perform a thorough analysis of claims, Developing and maintains electronic files according to established guidelines, maintaining assigned active cases, receiving telephone calls, answering substantive questions concerning status of the case, payment issues, as well as functions and general procedures of the Social Security Disability claims, Communicating directly with the Social Security Administration. Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience with Social Security Disability Claims are preferred. Should preferably have experience in Case Management. Knowledge of Social Security Disability Law and Prevail software is a plus. Must preferably have previous experience in the legal field or in social security disability law, but we will strongly consider other candidates who has a background in familiarity with file management, client relations, and computer proficiency. General office and customer service experience is needed. Strong time management and organizational skills are needed. Strong client contact skills and telephone etiquette is needed. Excellent written, verbal and human relations skills are needed. Excellent computer skills including: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is needed. Strong emotional strength and maturity to deal effectively with a challenging and vulnerable population is needed.
