Litigation Paralegal
The candidate must have 5+ years of recent defense litigation experience. Must be experienced in bodily injury, and be an independent professional. Must have experience and knowledge of the preparation of discovery responses and objections, summarization of medical and other types of records, preparation of medical chronologies, ability to assist with large document production, ability to utilize Adobe/Abbyy for electronic production issues and other such litigation paralegal tasks. Proven ability to properly capture time and bill according to client guidelines is necessary. Only those with the experience and abilities listed above that are Certified through a paralegal program, NALA or are a Florida Registered paralegal should apply.

"Former Associate - a couple issues that stood out"

Pros : I had a good Partner who provided substantive feedback on my work.
Cons : There is no PTO for attorneys, do not believe the job postings and snarky replies from the HR rep who monitors the reviews. There is zero PTO for attorneys. If you put in for PTO you will have. a meeting with a Partner wherein you are expected to lay out how you will make up for your hours missed during "PTO." This, of course, is the opposite of "Paid TIME OFF" when you are required to work those same hours but at another time. If you do not make up the PTO hours it will be counted against your monthly totals and also used to lessen your quarterly hours that are used to earn bonuses. Just to illustrate: if you have PTO scheduled for a week vacation in July, you will be required to bill those missed 40-50 hours by the end of the month - either before or after your "paid time off." It's the equivalent of working those hours in advance or after the fact. Not PTO. Just rearranged hours. They intentionally do not give you an actual billable requirement like every other firm in America does; i.e.., they will not tell you that the minimum is 160, 180, 200 per month (in reality if you are there for a couple months you will be expected to go over 200 per month). Instead, they leave it open so they can always come tell you that you did not do enough and then expect you to do more the next month. If you do 180 they will tell you that you need to be closer to 190 or 200, and on an on. I consistently hit 185-190 and was always told to do more if I wanted to last.
