Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to legal counsel on litigation, supporting subpoena/discovery responses related to commercial and consumer banking litigation and transactions. Will assist legal counsel with the management of litigation matters, projects, document reviews, and related matters. Manage third party subpoena intake and responses, including opening new matters in the matter management/e-billing system, drafting responses and collecting documents in response to subpoenas, and coordinating witness testimony as necessary. Research, investigate, analyze and ensure timely responses to claims, complaints, subpoenas and other legal process served on the bank. Assist in the processing of new complaints and create opening new matters in the matter management/e-billing system, so they may be adequately tracked, updated and reported. Support the response to discovery demands. Support the research, collection, and preparation of responses to audit, due diligence, regulatory exams, and other information requests and inquiries. Prepare and process legal settlements and disposition reports. Interface with outside counsel, internal clients, and customers, as appropriate. Provide assistance with certain aspects of matter management/e-billing, including calendaring events and deadlines. Prepare initial draft legal hold notices for attorney review; release legal hold notices; and assist with legal hold management. Support the Chief Litigation Paralegal. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Paralegal Certificate and/or 4-6 years of equivalent legal experience. Prior experience working with the financial services industry or mortgage industry preferred. Prior in-house experience a plus. Knowledge of civil litigation and legal processes preferred. Familiarity with electronic matter management and invoicing systems is required.
