Job Overview: A highly respected law firm in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Patent Agent to join its growing Intellectual Property Group. The position offers an opportunity to work with an established team of professionals in a hybrid work environment. This role involves a broad range of intellectual property responsibilities, with a focus on patent prosecution and client counseling in various technological fields.

Duties:

• Manage patent prosecution activities, including drafting and filing patent applications.
• Provide client counseling regarding intellectual property strategy and portfolio management.
• Assist with the freedom to operate analysis and patentability assessments.
• Conduct intellectual property due diligence in various technologies.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals on complex IP matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and act as a key resource for IP-related queries.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience preferred.
• Experience working in mechanical or electrical engineering fields.
• Proficiency in patent prosecution processes and regulations.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:

• Active registration with the . Patent & Trademark Office.

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and client-relations skills.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
• Attention to detail in writing and reviewing patent applications.
