Job Overview:
A prominent civil defense law firm based in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a dedicated Attorney with expertise in law and motion practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience drafting and filing successful motions in both state and federal cases. The role focuses primarily on writing motions for summary judgments, motions to compel, motions to strike, demurrers, and meet and confer letters. Duties:

• Draft, review, and file motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, motions to strike, and demurrers.
• Prepare meet and confer letters and handle other law and motion-related tasks.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and other legal databases to support case strategies.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop and refine case strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of legal documents, filings, and correspondence.
• Provide legal guidance and advice to clients and internal teams as needed.
• Assist with litigation preparation and ensure all legal processes are completed in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in law and motion practice, specifically in state and federal courts.
• Strong background in drafting motions, including motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, and demurrers.
• Proven experience in legal research and writing, especially using platforms such as Westlaw.
• Ability to effectively analyze complex legal issues and craft persuasive arguments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
