A law firm located in Columbus, OH, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Employment Attorney with at least 2+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in employment litigation, although other civil litigation experience is also valued. The successful candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and demonstrate superior analytical, research, writing, and communication skills. Experience at a sophisticated law firm and clerkships are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Represent clients in employment-related legal matters, including disputes, grievances, and claims.
• Advise clients on employment laws and regulations related to labor unions, wage and hour issues, and workplace discrimination.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Prepare and present cases in court, including conducting depositions and negotiating settlements.
• Stay updated on current labor and employment law trends and legal precedents.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients and collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm.
• Manage case files and thoroughly document all legal proceedings and communications.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Ohio State Bar Association.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law, with a preference for employment litigation experience.
• Experience in civil litigation is also valued.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.

• Previous clerkship experience.
