Corporate Construction Attorney The candidate will provide hands-on legal counsel and representation for a major international heavy civil and infrastructure construction contractor over a broad area of responsibilities. Other responsibilities will include Litigation Management, GL/Auto/WC Insurance, personal injury, breach of contract, tort and environmental. Will manage outside counsel, experts, consultants, budgets, discovery, and motions practice.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Should have 5+ years of experience in construction law practice or in-house construction company. Bar Admission in any jurisdiction is necessary. Courtroom experience is preferred. Should have strong research and writing skills with ability to communicate thoughts clearly and efficiently. Must have substantial hands-on experience with Litigation management, contracts claims/reviews and payment related claims. Should have experience assisting project teams in requesting time extensions and associated financial compensation, from notice, to schedule analysis, to cost quantification, to presentation in front of finder of fact. Should have a broad contract negotiating experience in both the private and public construction sectors with sensitivity to turnaround timelines. Experience defending and bringing bond claims and liens and assisting project teams with payment issues of various types, involving the Owner, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, etc. is required. Land, software, equipment leases, pre-qualification process and supporting pre-qualification teams experience is needed.
