A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its expanding team in Cleveland, Ohio. This position will focus on handling auto accident personal injury cases, managing a team of legal professionals, and driving case strategy from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have 7-12 years of experience in personal injury law, specifically auto accident cases, and possess strong leadership skills. This is a full-time, in-office role with significant growth potential within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Manage personal injury case files from initiation through settlement or trial.
  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal guidance to prospective clients.
  • Draft, review, and modify legal documents including motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, and subpoenas.
  • Research relevant case law, premises liability, and gather medical records, insurance policies, and other evidence.
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, and other parties involved in the case.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
  • Represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and update case management system.
  • Manage and mentor a team of paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring efficient case handling.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio state bar and active in good standing.
  • 7-12 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on auto accident cases.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing legal teams.
  • Ability to handle high-volume caseloads and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong client-facing experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Ohio state bar.

Skills

  • Strong case management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Experience in negotiating settlements and representing clients at hearings and trials.
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
