Department Secretary, Risk & Insurance Team Duties: Provides risk management, insurance, claims management, data analysis, reporting and technology solutions for the OGC and affiliates. The roles and responsibilities within this team span a wide range of activities from the support of technology and data analytics used for claims and litigation management, to the operational support of SISCO, captive insurance company, and the full portfolio of commercial insurance programs and services. As part of the support team of the assigned department, provides high-level professional secretarial support to departmental staff. Responsible for producing a myriad of documents including letters, memorandums, presentations, and charts. Produces presentation graphic materials, schedules meetings, completes special project work, and other office related duties.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. AA/AS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior secretarial experience and demonstrated proficiency in advanced secretarial support as typically acquired in 3-5 years. Experience in making travel arrangements and tracking expenses is preferred. Successful performance in a secretarial position supporting more than one position simultaneously is desired. Familiarity with the Insurance, Risk Management or Legal Profession environment is highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of the English language including correct use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Must type 45 wpm. Previous experience with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred. Ability to positively handle internal and external contacts, appropriately handle confidential information, and maintain office work-flow systems. Excellent interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and coordination of work effort. Positive customer relations skills in all contacts with internal and external people. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in all contacts to ensure confidential data or communications are handled appropriately when routed/distributed. Works positively and cooperatively with other staff within the department, as well as staff from other departments, to facilitate the flow of work or communications to ensure a pleasant, efficient, and productive work environment.
