International Counsel The candidate will evaluate and maintain relationships with a ‘trusted pool’ of international outside counsel upon which the business unit lawyers rely in selecting counsel for specific matters. Will develop and maintain a repository of information in proprietary “International Legal Playbooks” providing information about the laws, legal customs, template documents, and corporate positions approved by firm for key international jurisdictions. Support the Associate General Counsel - International in strategic enterprise-wide contract negotiations with governmental, and large commercial customers, including offset and industrial participation. Support the day-to-day advice and counsel to Regional and International Executives and their respective offices. Provide support to Corporate Contracts as well as the business unit attorneys pursuing specific opportunities for International. Provide occasional indirect support to the compliance section of the firm's International Office of the General Counsel (e.g., international trade law compliance, anti-corruption compliance, etc.) as necessary. Manage Risk through knowledge, experience and developing compliant systems and processes. JD degree from a U.S. law school (or foreign equivalent). Substantial (4 - 5 years) multinational business law experience with a top-tier law firm, corporation, government, or financial institution is essential. Experience closing international business transactions are needed. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills is needed. Experience as in-house for a Fortune 500 company is preferred. International experience dealing with governmental entities is essential. Foreign language proficiency is preferred.
