Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor Relations Attorney with a focus on traditional labor law to join the Employment Law and Labor Relations team in Seattle or Portland. This role is ideal for a dedicated attorney with extensive experience in collective bargaining, contract administration, and representing employers in arbitrations and board hearings. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a supportive team environment with opportunities to manage client relationships independently.

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to management-side clients in traditional labor law matters.
  • Lead collective bargaining negotiations and offer contract administration advice.
  • Represent employers in arbitrations, board hearings, and administrative proceedings.
  • Develop and manage direct client relationships, delivering comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address complex labor and employment law issues.
  • Advise clients on legal strategies and best practices in labor relations.
  • Participate in client meetings and serve as the primary legal contact on various matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in traditional labor law, including collective bargaining and labor relations in the private or public sectors.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to manage and nurture client relationships.
  • Experience representing employers in arbitrations, administrative hearings, and board proceedings.
  • Active member in good standing with the Washington or Oregon State Bar, or eligible for reciprocity.
  • California State Bar license is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in Washington or Oregon State Bar.
  • California State Bar membership (preferred, but not required).

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.
