ProfileAttorney-Advisor GS 14 Duties: The candidate will serve as an Attorney-Advisor in the Congressional Affairs. Will assist in developing and facilitating orgnization's strategic and policy planning related to congressional, legislative and regulatory matters. Monitor, review and provide legal analysis on congressional and legislative activities in light of Departmental and organization policies and objectives to identify positive or negative ramification for organization. Provide legal analysis and advice on a wide range of legislative mandates and oversight matters affecting the work for organization. Review proposed or new legislation and consult with the appropriate organization officials in evaluating the impact of this legislation on organization programs, authorities and operations. Provide legal analysis, advice and assistance on a wide range of Congressional mandates and oversight matters affecting the work of the organization.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must be graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Must be a current member in good standing of the bar of a State or Territory of the United States or the District of Columbia or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar association. Must have 3+ years of professional law experience after admission to the Bar. Must have 1+ full-time year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (or private sector equivalent) which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Must have knowledge and skills in researching, drafting, briefing, or otherwise making substantive contributions to work products involving congressional legislative, activities, and/or inquiries/information requests. In addition, posses strong writing, advocacy and negotiation skills.
