Legal Assistant Duties: Maintains and manages attorney's calendar, schedules court appearances, client meetings, and other engagements. Ensures there are no conflicts and notifies attorney of pending deadlines. Works for multiple attorneys. Serves as intermediary between other firm personnel, clients, and the courts. Communicates information between each group. Prepares all correspondence and handles the distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail. Creates and maintains client files in both paper and electronic formats, and insures the accuracy and completeness of same to enable timely retrieval and delivery of information. Assists attorneys by preparing and maintaining virtual and physical document rooms for complex transactions. Assists attorneys with planning and conducting client development events, interacts with clients both electronically and in person.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: High school or equivalent. Must have 5 years' prior experience as a legal secretary, preferably in a law firm setting. Experience in Estate Planning,Tax, Corporate, and General Business is preferred. Proficient with computers and applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook Must be able to type at least 70 wpm. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational management skillset.
