Immigration Paralegal, Part Time Duties: Support members of the Immigration Practice Group. Working closely with clients and firm personnel to manage immigration activities, both in the United States and internationally. Responsibility for assessment and handling of incoming immigration cases and requests, including filing visa applications and petitions with governmental agencies. Monitoring progress of cases and keeping attorneys informed by providing updates. Maintaining and administering a tickler system, database, calendar and shared drive folders. Organizing and analyzing information and files. Assisting attorneys with determining case issues and planning case strategy.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience and/or training are required. Experience with immigration client management/forms software such as LawLogix, INSZoom, eIMMIGRATIONAIR, Immigration Tracker. Must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily and be responsive, efficient, independent and proactive in a very fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and flexibility. Excellent written and communication skills with close attention to detail are required. Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as external clients is expected. Punctuality and satisfactory attendance is imperative. Strong analytical, financial and mathematical skills and ability to grasp new concepts quickly are required. Strong knowledge of computer technology including all Microsoft Office Products required. Knowledge of current immigration policies, and understanding the need and use of various visa types and labor certification applications, procedures, formats and terminology.
