Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate to join its sophisticated Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. This is a great opportunity for candidates with 5-7 years of experience, specializing in insurance coverage litigation. The associate will play an integral role in all aspects of litigation, from drafting pleadings and motions to working on complex case evaluations and discovery efforts. Direct client interaction and a collaborative work environment are key components of this role.

Location:

  • St. Louis, MO

Duties:

  • Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including trial and appeal preparation.
  • Conduct, propound, and respond to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions).
  • Work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
  • Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and other analyses.
  • Collaborate with senior lawyers and clients to address high-stakes, complex disputes.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance coverage litigation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong experience with case management and client interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience handling complex disputes, including extra-contractual issues.
  • Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus.
  • Experience in PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) litigation is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and in good standing.
