ProfileParalegal The candidate will monitor and maintain firm’s contract database by reviewing contracts to determine contract types, assigning user permissions, creating template agreements developing standard contract report templates completing annual audit, updating system and providing education related to quarterly releases. Provide general assistance and answer questions including training and development of job aides related to firm’s online contract database and workflows. Review, develop and draft clinical trial and research study related agreements (template and non-template), vendor agreements, physician consulting, CDAs and other agreements, with supervision. Responsible for ICF revisions, as assigned. Assist with Clinical Research Service Agreements. Assist with new hire training, as needed. Provide general assistance and answer questions related to ’s online contract database and workflows. Assist senior paralegal with development of firm Physician Agreements to include tracking until fully executed and updating statuses. Assist with SOP release requests. Conduct general research on basic legal and compliance issues. Prepare initial drafts of basic legal agreements from templates. Review basic legal agreements and provide feedback to internal departments and/or third parties. Track contracts from final draft through execution. Assist Senior Paralegal with Conflict of Interest Program tasks and Financial Disclosure Forms, as assigned. Perform back-up administrative duties including composing correspondence, scheduling meetings and coordinating resources across corporate functions. Attend meetings regarding operational and/or contract issues. Keep abreast of HCA and specifically, firm policies, legal department processes and other rules that affect the work of the Legal Department. Update agreement resource guides (e.g., IST CTA Review Summary, CRO CTA Review Manual, MSA Review Manual, contract checklists), as assigned. Prepare PowerPoint presentations, letters and other correspondence. Answer inquiries and/or refer callers/visitors to appropriate person/department. Handle various administrative activities with initiative and good judgment. Create and submit expense reports for attorneys and Director of Compliance, upon request. Participate in educational activities and programs. Maintain strictest confidentiality of company-related information.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience is needed. Knowledge of contract management process and principles to include basic to moderate contract review is needed. Basic understanding of legal terminology is needed. Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills are needed. High level of proficiency with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed. Experience managing a contract database is needed. High level of proficiency with computer technologies and MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed. Familiarity with database concepts such as fields, workflows and reporting is needed. Bachelor’s College Degree (4 year program) is needed. Associates Degree 2+ year program. Should have 1+ year of prior paralegal or comparable experience. Should have 3-5 years of prior legal or comparable administrative experience is preferred. Appropriate education may be substituted for partial experience. Experience working across multiple cross functional teams in clinical research (i.e. CRO, Site Management Organization, Corporate lines of business, etc.) is needed.
