Paralegal The candidate will manage trust Administrator duties for the wealth preservation practice group. Will handle Estate Administration for VA, MD and DC estates. Maintain the bookkeeping and distributions for trust and estate records and books of accounts. Prepare annual trust and probate accounts. Experience in preparing federal, MD and DC estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns. Prepare annual tax and court filings and probate. Prepare documentation to report gifts to trusts. Implement formal trust distribution guidelines. Monitor trust investment policies and monthly trust statements. Administer insurance trusts, including paying premiums and issuing Crummey demand notices. Prepare budgets to project trust income, expenses and beneficiary distributions. Prepare checks and letters of authorization in payment of trust distributions and expenses. Reconcile checking accounts for clients' accounts; pay bills for elderly clients; prepare reports to insurance companies regarding reimbursement for in-home caregivers. Provide administrative support to ensure trustee compliance with formal fiduciary duties. Prepare reports for trust accountants and financial advisors. Communicate regularly with trustees, trust grantors, and beneficiaries. Knowledge of industry-related tax sofrware packages a plus. Undergraduate degree and relevant work experience for the practice group is needed. Paralegal Degree or Certificate is a plus. Estate and Trust Administrator/Paralegal with 5+ years of experience in the areas of accounting, tax, trust or estates. Proficient in excel is needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels is essential. Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload is needed. Must have pPersonal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc.

The firm should work on having events in which more staff would be open to participating. Retreats, potlucks, or meet and greets would seem like a great way to be able to meet more of the staff which has not met other staff and employees in the office.

Pros : A law firm in which staff and employees work alongside together and have created a pleasant environment. The firm offers benefits. The staff is respectful.
Cons : Part of the firm is not on the same page. Some of the employees do not open themselves to working in the same pleasant environment. There needs to be more staff hired.
