Senior Consultant, Property Tax Commercial The candidate will demonstrate full understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios. Will build awareness/understanding of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements. Demonstrates an ability to collect, review and fully understand client-provided data. Inspect properties and prepare appropriate reports deemed necessary by management. Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions. Apply software knowledge to efficiently work with client data. Handle appeals and monitor appeals process. Attend client status calls and meetings and provides supporting data and findings for leadership team. Work effectively with clients by taking an interest in the client’s industry and inquiring about trends and processes to gain a full understanding of their core business. Participate in recruiting efforts. Interact and communicate effectively with team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, or other degree with MBA, MST or JD required and 2+ years property tax related experience is required. Candidates with appropriate valuation designations are preferred. Should possess knowledge in assessment review, appeal determination, tax bill administration and the three valuation approaches; cost, sales comparison and income. Should have the knowledge of assessment equalization methodology that may apply in certain states. Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Valid driver's license is required. Limited supervisory responsibilities, including training employees, assigning work, and checking work for accuracy and completeness is needed.
