A law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Employment Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in employment law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing legal advice and counsel to clients on various employment-related issues, including hiring, terminations, and discrimination. The attorney will handle a diverse caseload, draft key employment documents, and represent clients in employment litigation.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on employment-related matters, including hiring, terminations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, trade secrets, managing employees, leaves of absence, and wage and hour law.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents such as employee handbooks, nondisclosure agreements, arbitration agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including wrongful termination, class and representative actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, and breach of contract cases.
  • Independently identify issues, anticipate necessary next steps, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Manage client matters with minimal supervision, demonstrating a proactive approach to case management.
  • Conduct legal and factual/investigative research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail standards in all legal work products.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of employment law experience, focusing on litigation and advice and counsel work.
  • Proven experience advising clients on employment matters and handling related litigation.
  • Prior experience in a private law firm, taking responsibility for client matters under supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address legal issues independently.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal and factual/investigative research.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a desire for professional growth.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be a current member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
