Conduct thorough client legal intakes. Investigate facts through interviews and document collection. Perform legal research. Prepare legal documents to assist attorneys. Provide oral and written translation assistance for attorneys who represent non-English-speaking clients in various scenarios, including court appearances. Advocate with various organizations and government agencies on behalf of vulnerable, low income New Yorkers to ensure clients access and/or maintain crucial public benefits. Potential to represent clients at administrative hearings. Assist with grant compliance and reporting. Must have bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience. Should have excellent organizational, analytical, writing and communications skills. Demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently is needed.
