A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a skilled Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel as a communicator, team member, manager, and self-starter with strong business acumen. They must thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and manage a large team of paralegals. The role involves handling a high caseload, managing client interactions, and overseeing case and legal strategy. Organizational skills and project management are crucial for success.
Duties
- Meet with potential new clients to assess their legal needs and provide consultations.
- Coordinate case and legal strategies to ensure efficient case handling.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously, including overseeing paralegals, projects, and deadlines.
- Train, supervise, and mentor staff to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Prepare, revise, and file court documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Stay updated on legislative changes, judicial case law, and immigration policies.
- Market the law firm’s services and actively seek new business opportunities.
- Work one Saturday a month with potential bonuses for new clients signed during those days.
- Cross-sell the firm’s other practices to clients as applicable.
- Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
- Develop expertise in Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), U-Visas, Waivers, and other immigration matters.
Requirements
- . from an ABA Accredited Law School (required).
- Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or Puerto Rico (required).
- Fluent in Spanish (required).
- Minimum of 1+ years of immigration law experience.
Education
- Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA Accredited Law School.
Certifications
- Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or Puerto Rico.
