Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a Mid-level Intellectual Property Associate to join its Intellectual Property practice group. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of patent litigation experience and a strong technical background in fields such as electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering. The role offers the opportunity to work with a nationally ranked team, helping clients protect and monetize their intellectual property in diverse industries.

Location:

• Boston, MA

Duties:

• Handle substantive patent litigation matters.
• Provide counsel on intellectual property development, acquisition, and management.
• Assist clients in the monetization of their intellectual property assets.
• Work on patent litigation cases, particularly those related to electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering fields.
• Represent clients in PTAB (Patent Trial and Appeal Board) proceedings.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys, patent agents, and technical professionals on complex IP issues.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of substantive patent litigation experience.
• PTAB experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property law, particularly patent-related matters.
• Experience with high-tech, healthcare, or mechanical innovations preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction or ability to be admitted.

Skills:

• Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, or substantial experience with related subject matter.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex patent litigation matters with attention to detail.
• Proficient in collaborating with technical professionals, including inventors and researchers.
