Austin office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks discovery attorney with 2+ years of related work experience in labor and employment law and experience with 2+ years of eDiscovery document review projects. The candidate will assist with basic employment litigation support for single plaintiff matters in state and federal court within the Labor and Employment Group. Will also supplement core legal teams with licensed attorneys trained in document review procedures and must have expertise in many document review platforms and litigation support technologies. Provide employment litigation support. Gather and synthesize client documents, including .pst files. Prepare and send FOIA requests and subpoenas for third party documents. Develop and run basic searches of .pst files for relevant data. Conduct social media searches. Draft EEOC or state agency statements of position. Conduct and/or participate in witness interviews. Perform early case assessment, including damages analysis, drafting written summaries of timelines, facts, and legal claims. Prepare litigation pleadings such as answers, discovery responses, outbound discovery, initial disclosures, joint status reports, and witness lists. Perform initial deposition preparation, including selection of documents and deposition outline. Draft and/or respond to simple discovery motions. Perform document review for relevance, responsiveness, privilege, and issue coding. Perform quality control of document review work performed by other ESS attorneys and people employed by outside vendors. Identify documents and evidence for use at deposition and trial. Engage the use of relational database technology (CaseMap) to collect and analyze evidence. Perform initial deposition preparation. Perform case analysis assistance and draft written summaries. Monitor and remain apprised of case law developments in electronic discovery. Monitor advancements in e-discovery and litigation technology systems. Should have strong knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and familiarity with state civil procedure in the jurisdiction in which the attorney resides. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit needed. Basic knowledge of employment discrimination laws, leave, and wage and hour statutes, e.g. Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act needed. Should have basic knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor and similar administrative agency procedures. Strong knowledge of the principles of litigation support software such as Relativity, Disco, CaseMap, and LiveNote needed. Familiarity with the litigation process, including all phases of discovery and trial essential. Must be fluent in standard MS Office applications and ability to quickly master new litigation software. Must also be admitted to and in good standing with Texas Bar.
