Internship Intern will develop leadership capabilities and networking skills by spearheading outreach projects, will assist congressional staff with office responsibilities, will gain in-depth knowledge of the decision making process in local government, and will complete research assignments – preparing policy and event reports. Intern responsibilities will vary. Will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, accompany staff to meetings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a District congressional office.
