The ideal candidate will have a robust background in representing clients in New York and New Jersey on a range of family law matters. This role involves managing a busy caseload, preparing legal documents, and attending mediations, hearings, and trials. Candidates should be licensed in both New York and New Jersey and possess a small book of business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including separation, divorce, custody disputes, spousal and child support, and marital property issues.
- Manage a high-volume family law caseload, ensuring all cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
- Attend and represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines and managing multiple cases.
- Preferably handle first-chair trials, demonstrating leadership and expertise in complex family law matters.
- Manage an active caseload while contributing to the firm's overall family law practice.
- Develop and maintain a small book of business, actively seeking to expand client base and firm presence.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing family law.
- Proven track record of managing a busy caseload and handling diverse family law issues.
- Ability to handle a high volume of cases while ensuring quality and thoroughness.
