Judicial Assistant – County Court The candidate is responsible for administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the assigned county court judge. Responsible for administrative, secretarial and clerical tasks of high confidentiality and responsibility. Essential Duties: This position prepares and maintains the judge's court and professional calendar; schedules and coordinates motions, hearings and conferences. Process electronically filed documents. Provide organizational support for the judge's caseload, including preparing orders, docketing jury instructions and a list of pending cases; ordering jurors and coordinating in-house services, such as interpreters, review case files for accuracy, format compliance and completeness prior to submitting files to the judge. Screen calls and visitors to the judge office; Compose and/or edit correspondence, memoranda, directives, notice, orders and other documents observing strict confidentiality. Prepare yearly financial disclosure forms; make travel arrangement and process travel vouchers. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and 1 year of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operation or closely related field and 3 years' experience as a legal secretary or paralegal; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to e-file court documents and implement a paperless process. Ability to organize documents electronically. Proficient in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills. Working knowledge of trial court (including civil, traffic & criminal) rules and procedures. Ability to type proper memoranda, briefs, drafts, opinions in the standard format. Knowledge of court procedures and understanding of basic legal terminology.
