Corporate Counsel The candidate reports to company’s Chief Legal Counsel and is responsible for assisting the CLC with the management of the legal, corporate compliance, and contracting functions of the company. Corporate Counsel provides comprehensive legal advice and support concerning all aspects of health care services provided at company facilities. Essential Responsibilities: Review and analysis of all arrangements between hospitals and other parties on compliance for Stark, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other fraud and abuse laws, EMTALA, HIPAA, antitrust laws, and any other regulatory requirements applicable to such arrangements; Manage and direct the work of paralegal and contract managers, providing consistent and constructive feedback; Review, draft and negotiate contracts; Conduct legal research, as necessary; Assist with the development of policies and procedures; Provide education and support on hospital operational and regulatory matters, including medical staff issues, adherence to company policy, and alignment with company strategy and core values; Provide education and support on medical staff matter, which may require attendance and active participation in medical staff committee meetings; Communicate effectively with executives and management regarding legal implications of business strategies, policies, procedures, and activities; Give training presentations from time-to-time on legal issues that pertain to company and applicable healthcare issues; and Other duties as assigned by the CLC. Other duties as assigned by the CLC.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Degree from an ABA-accredited institution. Must have 4 years of experience in health care law, with direct experience in hospital operations law practice and working knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Must have experience in health care related contract drafting and transactional matters. Prior large law firm experience or previous in-house experience is preferred. Current license and Bar affiliation in the State of Oklahoma or the ability to get licensed is desired. Should have excellent project management skills, ability to execute on plan, deliver results and manage external legal costs and management/decision-making experience. Must have strong legal analytical research, drafting, negotiation and communication skills required to: identify and manage complex legal issues; develop and implement creative solutions; and regularly advise the Chief Legal Counsel on matters of strategic importance. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint] or similar software is required.
