Associate Commercial/Product Counsel, Marketing
The candidate will provide responsibilities include: Review, draft, and manage co-marketing, media buying, licenses, intellectual property, advertising services, sponsorship, talent, and other agreements on a daily basis. Manage agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance. Respond promptly to legal requests from Marketing, Business Development, and other clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that business people can use. Advise business clients, HR, Finance, and other company colleagues, on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, IP and business strategy. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes. Ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations dealing with privacy and data protection, employment, and intellectual property.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have Juris Doctor Degree. Must have 4+ years of relevant experience working with commercial agreements within a media, marketing, or entertainment company, or within an entertainment or media-focused law firm. Must have 5+ years of work experience with media and entertainment commercial marketing agreements in a media, marketing, or advertising company or law firm. Must have experience drafting licenses and intellectual property/advertising services/sales agreements. Must have experience advising clients in structuring complex commercial transactions, including new media content and advertising agreements. Must have understanding of media and content license language and rights, copyright law, fair use, trademark law, and personality rights for the U.S. Must have knowledge of advertising law, including FTC regulations. Must have excellent analytical skills, especially as it relates to agreement interpretation. Must have ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
