Job Overview: A law firm in Greensboro, NC, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join its legal team. This role involves managing complex personal injury cases, crafting customized legal strategies, and advocating passionately on behalf of clients. This attorney will play a vital role in protecting client interests and ensuring a compelling representation in court.

Duties:

  • Develop and execute legal strategies for complex personal injury cases.
  • Conduct mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, and trials, including all client interactions.
  • Present persuasive arguments to juries, fostering a connection with the courtroom audience.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for client guidance.
  • Review legal and medical data to assess insurance coverage, liability, damages, and strategy.
  • Conduct research, provide legal counsel, and prepare for various case-related proceedings.
  • Develop settlement brochures and arguments, ensuring compliance with legal disbursements and settlements.
  • Use advanced technology and case management systems for case documentation and strategy.
  • Build professional relationships within the community to enhance brand recognition, marketing, and client services.
  • Required travel as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active NC State Bar membership; additional State Bar memberships are a plus.
  • 10+ years of civil litigation experience preferred, with at least 10 cases tried to verdict in North Carolina Superior Court or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Lead Attorney in complex personal injury cases in state and federal courts, especially involving trucking and/or catastrophic injuries.
  • Professional affiliation with relevant trade groups (., Defense Research Institute, National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, Trucking Industry Defense Association) is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the North Carolina State Bar (additional state memberships are a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to instruct, mentor, and evaluate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, strategic thinking, and thorough understanding of trial procedures.
