Staff Attorney Level 1 The candidate will serve as a liaison between various business units (sales, operations, management, etc.), outside legal counsel, and customer or vendor representatives to coordinate the contracting process. Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including transportation provider/vendor agreements, master services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, leases (land, equipment, software, etc.), and related documents. Assist in the development of form agreements and implementation of processes and procedures for review and approval of contracts. Assist in training internal clients on contract forms and procedures. Act as a company resource for contract questions. Provide legal advice and counsel concerning other general law issues. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Conduct due diligence in support of anti-corruption compliance program. Conduct due diligence in support of export/trade sanctions compliance program. Interpret and apply company policies, rules and procedures. Represent the company in dispute resolution. Manage outside counsel in the dispute resolution process. Advise business stakeholders on good business practices in an effort to prevent unnecessary dispute proceedings. Must have Juris Doctor, current law license (Arkansas preferred, but not mandatory). Should have 3+ years of work experience as a practicing lawyer (in-house, law firm or government) handling (i) contract negotiations and transactions, (ii) compliance, or (iii) litigation. Must have strong negotiation skills and ability to build consensus and communicate compelling legal/business justification for position. Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Lexis/Nexis research system and other legal research tools. Experience in the transportation or manufacturing industry a plus.
