Summer Internship The student will serve as Legal Health Intern. Will help patients secure benefits, address housing issues, handle immigration matters, access special education services, solve insurance disputes, resolve family law matters and negotiate workplace accommodations. Responsibilities will include client interviewing, maintaining client files, legal writing and research. A full-time commitment of 10 weeks (usually commencing the Tuesday after Memorial Day and ending early August) is required. In addition to handling substantive work at the Group, interns will have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive training that covers the breadth of civil legal services practice in New York City, as well as a series of brown bag lunches on fellowships, clerkships and other topics of interest, and social events in and around the office in lower Manhattan.
