Counsel - General Law The candidate will report to the Vice President and General Counsel. Will work with other lawyers within the OGC to provide strategic legal advice to one or more product lines. Work to manage complex legal and business issues related to key growth pursuits, as well as regulatory and legal compliance. Support and collaborate with Contracts, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Global Trade Compliance and other functions, as well as Product Lines. Work with and advise leadership on complex legal issues concerning legal rights and obligations involved in the on-going conduct of business at RMS, including compliance with FAR and DFARS, Raytheon standard terms and conditions, cyber security, antitrust, export/import (ITAR and EAR), FCPA and other legal and regulatory compliance issues. Review, draft and lead or support negotiations of terms and conditions of contracts, purchase orders, overarching agreements, licenses, teaming agreements and other transactions with domestic and international suppliers. Represent company to suppliers and business partners. Assist with the management of Government agency and internal audits and investigations. Assist in the management of business related disputes with customers, suppliers and business partners, including litigation, arbitration, bid protests, and claims before state and federal courts and administrative bodies. Manage outside counsel, as required, within budget.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 6+ years of related experience with J.D. degree from a well-regarded and accredited US law school. Should preferably have experience working with issues and transactions related to US Government and international procurement, customers and suppliers. Experience in the practice of government contracts law gained by working within the aerospace and defense industry, Government or a law firm, is strongly preferred. Proficiency with basic computer skills, including familiarity and comfort using common word processing and email programs is required. Should be in good standing with a State Bar association, and In-House Counsel registration with the State Bar of Arizona in a timely manner following hire. Must have ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, sometimes on short notice.
