eDiscovery Specialist The candidate will assist in the development of internal eDiscovery strategy, to drive efficiency and consistency across matters, and to serve as internal expert working across all matters. The eDiscovery Specialist will work closely with internal and external legal and IT teams and have overall accountability for eDiscovery quality, process, protocols, and cost. Develop and implement eDiscovery process and protocols. Assist in development and implementation of eDiscovery strategies, including employing technology assisted review and machine learning. Drive consistency and efficiency in eDiscovery, from legal hold through production. Define processing specifications across legal matters. Actively manage all aspects of document review, including devloping review protocols, selecting and managing vendors, and serving as internal consultant across matters. Oversee the creation and review of eDiscovery performance and cost metrics associated with collection, filtering, processing, analytics, review and productions. Develop protocols for whether/how analytics should be employed, and work with external partners to execute. Serve as internal expert on exceptions to rules. Define goals / objectives for early case assessment approach for applicable matters, and provide direction to enable intelligent culling prior to review. Manage relationships with external vendors. Overall accountability for continuous improvement in ediscovery processes. Work closely with case managers, outside counsel and external vendors to document defensible processes and protocols.
Qualification and Experience
A College degree required; law degree optional. Should have 6+yearsâ€™ experience in eDiscovery as technical expert. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred. Experience with cross-border discovery preferred. Deep understanding of legal eDiscovery requirements and technology and its application in litigation is required. Should have demonstrated experience in resolving challenging eDiscovery issues. Must have excellent judgment and interpersonal skills. Should have outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have ability to influence and collaborate with other employees, business partners, and outside counsel, Deep working knowledge and familiarity with document hosting databases and review platforms is required.
