Litigation Calendar/Docket Clerk The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Litigation Calendar. Duties include opening, coding and distribution of all mail; reviewing all litigation documents delivered via FedEx, pouches, court returns, faxes, electronic deliveries via Firm email account; and ECF filing hand deliveries; to calculate deadline dates and input information into litigation calendar database. Generate calendar date reports for attorneys/paralegals, and maintain statistics in weekly calendaring meetings. Also responsible for reviewing changes to all court rules, updating litigation calendar manual and researching calendar-related matters for Librarian and attorneys. Other responsibilities include filing of digital documents and administrative duties as needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have A four-year degree from an accredited university or college, paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience. Must have 3+ years of progressively responsible work experience as a Docketing Specialist working in either a law firm, in house legal department or professional services firm setting, (law firm experience is preferred). Demonstrate ability to maintain high ethical standards and strict confidentiality of all information that the employee may receive in the course of her or his employment is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills; and Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (in person, by phone and in writing) with a diverse group of attorneys, non-attorney employees and vendors with courtesy and professionalism is required. Prefers some college course work, but a junior docket candidate or IP docket professional will be considered. Must have thorough knowledge of state, federal and local rules of procedure.
