Assistant Project Director Duties: Assist Project Director in day-to-day management and coordination of activities associated with the SOR grant. Supervise the Research Scientist and Fiscal Manager hired for the grant, including coordinating staff activities and conducting performance evaluations. Coordinate and monitor funded providers and contractors across the project catchment area and provide technical assistance as needed. Monitor provider fidelity to evidence-based practices. Prepare various reports regarding the project’s activities and coordinate the efforts of applicable workgroups. Travel to regions in the state carrying out project activities at a minimum of once/year and more frequently as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree is required with 4+ years of professional experience ; or a Master’s degree or JD Degree with 3 years of professional experience; or a doctorate degree with 2 years of professional experience. Professional experience must be in a substance use disorder, health, or mental health field. 1 year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in public health, public administration, sociology, psychology or related field. Demonstrated experience implementing projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects. Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset. Candidates should have experience supervising professional and support staff; strong management, writing, and oral communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders; and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other qualifications include the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities; and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
