Duties:
- Represent healthcare professionals in medical malpractice lawsuits and board investigations.
- Manage cases independently and collaboratively, ensuring the highest level of client service.
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of motions, briefs, and pleadings.
- Appear in state and federal courts in Virginia for hearings, trials, and depositions.
- Provide legal counsel to clients and prepare them for testimony.
- Assist in taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and presenting evidence in court.
- Ensure deadlines and court dates are met with precision.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and industry developments relevant to healthcare litigation.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Virginia.
- 0-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in healthcare or medical malpractice defense.
- Proven ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with depositions, oral arguments, and presenting evidence in court.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is advantageous.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (Doctorate) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Virginia Bar license (required).
