ProfileLake Oswego office of our client seeks associate attorney with 1-3 years of law firm experience. The candidate will provide entry-level associate services and support for the firm?s attorneys and clients in both transactional and litigation matters; assist in client case/matter management (both substantive and non-substantive); and assist the Firm?s management team in providing administrative support to enhance the efficiency of the firm?s systems and processes for the firm?s practice as a whole. Substantive legal services will be performed under the supervision of a more senior attorney but require prior knowledge of laws, procedures, rules, and legal requirements within some specific practice areas. Assist with client, case, file/matter, and project management, including drafting and sending engagement and conflict waiver letters, managing document organization of client file in both physical and electronic form, managing/docketing deadlines, supervising staff support, and anything else to help the senior attorneys smoothly manage all aspects of files at the firm. Drafting legal content and work product, including correspondence, status reports, summaries, memoranda, corporate minutes, governmental applications, forms, and other documents. Conduct legal research and legislative history research, cite check relevant cases, and synthesize legal research and analysis into a compelling and well-written memorandum or brief. Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents and suggest alterations/improvements to those documents. Prepare factual summaries of client or file, including case-related documents. Review, analyze, organize, index and maintain client files - including pleadings, memoranda, research, correspondence and depositions; document production; deposition, arbitration, hearing and trial notebooks; transaction and minute books or other corporate records. Draft transactional agreements/contracts, estate planning documents, and other legal documents. Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions. Prepare agendas for follow up client meetings, or internal strategy meetings as applicable. Prepare project plans and task lists for the file. Review deadlines and priorities and bring to the attention of the Responsible Attorney as needed. Supervise contractor attorneys regarding time entries, work products, answering questions. Keep abreast of changes in the law by doing independent research and education, and by attending firm-sponsored CLEs. Assist with administrative priorities of the Firm. Must have coursework or experience with legal matters in diverse practice areas (ideally, commercial, corporate, M&A, tax, estate planning, real estate, executive/equity-based compensation, and/or litigation). Should be proficient in Windows OS, MSOffice, and comfort with learning new case management, billing, document management, and other software.
