Corporate - Compliance
Min 5 yrs required
Corporate Counsel- Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with attorneys, Government Affairs, Corporate Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management and the business to maintain and improve Delta compliance programs. Advise the business regarding compliance risks in various risk areas. Identify and develop compliant, effective, and practical solutions for the business. Conduct legal research. Liaise with outside counsel. Perform transactional due diligence. Oversee vendor due diligence. Draft and revise Delta policies. Develop Delta-specific compliance training materials and deliver live training sessions. Collaborate with the business, Human Resources, Corporate Audit, and Security on investigations. Design and execute on risk assessments. Support coordination of the executive Delta Risk Council and its Working Committee. Stay informed of changes in relevant regulations. Respond to new and emerging compliance and regulatory risks, guidance, and trends. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree with excellent academic credentials is preferred. Licensed to practice law in the U.S. Should have 5+ years practicing law (in law firm(s) and/or in-house experience). Experience with compliance in a recent or current role. Possess exceptional legal capabilities and judgment. Any specific experience with risk areas including anti-corruption, trade sanctions & restrictions, U.S. government contracting (and FARs), import/export trade regulations (including ITAR, EAR), anti-money laundering, as well as internal policies such as a code of ethics or conflicts of interest. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Ability to assess and adapt to organizational risk tolerance. Ability to multi-task many issues. Ability to dive into a new risk area as necessary.
