We are an entrepreneurial tax law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced tax attorney to join our team and work directly with the owner to supervise and direct the legal work to help our clients resolve their high-stakes tax problems.

We want to be known for helping our clients come out of an extremely stressful process feeling as though they are in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need a senior tax attorney who can hit the ground running.

The position will be responsible for important work, including:

• Correspond with clients to assess their situation and give them legal advice regarding their tax matter.
• Train and mentor junior associates to further the development of their skills as tax attorneys
• Regularly review the cases to ensure that they are being handled appropriately and with the care and attention that they deserve
• Determining case strategy, delegate work and assign specific tasks to junior associates and legal assistants in order to move cases forward

• You have experience in resolving high-stakes tax disputes (audits, collections, and/or criminal matters)
• You have experience practicing in the US Tax Court
• You have in-depth knowledge of researching and arguing provisions of the Internal Revenue Manual
• Despite your experience, you are open to learning and taking direction on your cases from someone else
• You are excited about the idea of being able to direct and supervise the work product of other attorneys
• You have excellent communication skills
• You can be assertive when you need to
• Your middle name is “No Drama”
• You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly
• Bonus points if you have experience litigating civil and criminal tax matters in the US District Court
• Additional bonus points if you have an LL.M in Taxation

We love to help people learn and grow. But we don’t have the time for that right now. We need a senior tax attorney with experience in tax law. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand holding.

This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week.

There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.
