Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated Mid-Level Consumer Financial Regulatory Associate Attorney to join their San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of consumer financial regulations, including payment and credit product regulations, at both state and federal levels. The role demands excellent communication skills and a solid commitment to client service. Experience with emerging financial technologies, mortgage lending/servicing, and digital assets is advantageous.

Duties:

• Advise clients on compliance with consumer financial regulations.
• Research and analyze state and federal laws regarding payments and credit products.
• Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs.
• Provide counsel on unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws.
• Represent clients in regulatory proceedings and negotiations.
• Stay current with emerging financial technologies and their regulatory implications.
• Draft and review legal documents, including contracts and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm.
• Conduct training sessions for clients on regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in regulatory matters, specifically consumer financial regulations.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to providing excellent client service.
• Experience with FinTech platforms, mortgage lending/servicing, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets is a plus.
• Prior law firm experience is not required.
• Must be a member in good standing of the California Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California Bar Association.

• In-depth knowledge of consumer financial regulations and compliance.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
